During last season,
Helen Touray (formerly Scorer) showed an interest in volunteering as our Administrator in Gambia.
Helen moved to the Gambia in August 2008, and was
ready to start by September 2008.
GETSuk Fundraising secretary
Shirley Britton visited the GETSuk office for a morning at the end of September and
met with Helen the new administration assistant.

It was a busy time in the office as parents were collecting
their cheques to pay for the children’s school fees. It is much more than just
collecting signed cheques - photographs are taken of the students, the parents
bring the student school report, copies are then filed, and any queries are sorted if possible as parents have
usually travelled some distance to the office. |

|
Helen's presence dramatically reduced the administrative work load for Francis,
who then was able to resign as Chairman and trustee of GETSuk in order to
concentrate upon the GTS Kololi members' club, restaurant and
accommodation. |
