Fatou is 10 years old and attends Grade 4 of Deeper Life Primary School. Her results in the last academic year have proved that Fatou is a bright girl who tries her best in all subjects, as she came 8th out of her class of 46 children.

Shirley has been sponsoring her for many years, but her education becomes more expensive with each year of schooling. She needs an extra sponsor for 2010/2011, for her Grade 5 fees are likely to be in the region of £180 for the year

Fatou lives in Latrikunda German with her mother Awa.
Her father is deceased, he was a Red Cross worker attending a patient when he was shot during student riots - he was also a journalist and a popular radio DJ.

Dear Shirley,
It gives me the greatest pleasure to write you this letter. How are you and your family? I hope you are all fine. If so, thanks to God, for taking the responsibility of sponsoring my education which is a key to the success of my future. As the saying goes education is the key of success. And taking the responsibility is a great challenge which you relief of my single parent mother as my father is late and that would have been very difficult for her if not for your kind heart.
I therefore, take this opportunity on behalf of my mother to thank you very much for your kind gesture. May God bless you where-ever you may be. Thanks once again-
