Sending currently attends the Management Development Institute and completed her Certificate in 2006. She is now on the final year of the Graduate Diploma course.

She lives in Lamin village. Her parents are traditional Griots from the Mandinka tribe. They are the oral historians of the families in the area and attend all ceremonies such as naming, initiation, marriage and funerals to offer traditional prayers and to tell of the deeds of the family concerned.

The call for Griots has diminished in the urban areas of Gambia and the economic status of Griot families has suffered, even though their social status remains a valued and important feature of Gambian society.

Sending is a very bright girl who has been doing well at school for the years since GTS started sponsoring her in 2000. She is one of the regular student visitors to the GTS office and it is always a pleasure to meet and chat with her.

She is now being sponsored by Vee Delaney and Eileen Renwick.

My name is Sendeng Suso and I am 23 years old.  I have been pursuing a business management course at one of the best institutions in the Gambia, the Management Development Institute. I am now at the last stage of finishing my studies, the final year of my Diploma course which starts September2009.

I have been sponsored by GETS since 2000. During this time I have studied very hard and have always been successful in my examinations. I have just completed the Advanced Diploma in Business Management so am now left with the last level - the Graduate Diploma. I am a very determined, hardworking, serious and competent student who makes education my first priority and I believe that is the only way to success. I am pursuing this course because I want my future career to be as an International Business Consultant (in marketing).
